How does Naturopathy differ from traditional medicine or other forms of alternative medicine?

Naturopathic doctors (NDs) seek to determine the root cause of disease by assessing the body as a whole. The philosophy behind naturopathic medicine is that by understanding what the body needs, we can support healing using natural approaches.

Naturopathic approaches include utilizing diet choices, lifestyle changes, vitamins and nutrients, herbal therapies, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and natural glandular hormone support products.

Dr. Sababi takes this a step further by looking at how your body responds to stress and at your genetic tendencies to understand what your body needs to return to optimal wellness.

Though NDs are trained as primary care providers (to order labs and perform physical exams), the state you are in when you meet with an ND determines whether those services may be performed by the naturopathic doctor.Dr. Sababi

What is Dr. Sababi’s approach to healthcare?

The bases of Dr. Sababi’s approach is that we are all exposed to stress—whether from emotional demands, trauma, toxins, infections, foods that are a stress, and more—by understanding how your body has responded to stress will guide us to how to help it recover.

Symptoms are indicators that stress has affected your health. By uncovering how stressors have impacted your body—for example, nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, hormone and/or neurotransmitter imbalances—and addressing them with natural approaches, we can support your body back to wellness.
